Effect of Environmental Noise on Chicken's Performance

Experienced chicekn farmers may find out that Environmental noise will affect greatly the 

performance of poultry birds (broilers, layers, or quails etc.) . Well, the truth is that some 

sudden noise produced within or outside your poultry farm will produce a great impact on

chickens, and some chicken may be frightened to death with big sudden noise in chicken 

farm.

The big sudden noise will have a great effects include: 

 * Reduction in feed intake or consumption

 * Reduction in feed conversion efficiency (FCR)

 * Reduction in adrenal activities

 * Reduction in intestinal relaxation

 * Internal injuries sustained when frightened by sudden noise

All the effects mentioned above all directly or indirectly affect thechicken's performances in terms 

of growth performance, egg-laying performance and livability. So, please do not build your poultry

pens near a feed mill house, generator plant, busy road, and other sources or situations that produce

noise. Ensure that your poultry is silent every time, so your birds will perform well.
